A delicious + creamy smoothie that tastes like black forest cake, but is healthy. Need I say more?
Freezing cold winter days won’t stop me from drinking my daily smoothie! My inspiration for this recipe is quite simple – frozen cherries were on sale at the grocery store last week (is that not the most inspirational thing you’ve ever heard?). On an impulse I decided to buy them, and contemplated what to do with them until this smoothie recipe came to me!
Chocolate + just about any red fruit is one of my favourite combos… Strawberries, raspberries, pomegranates, cherries… The list goes on! I love this smoothie because it reminds me of black forest cake. And I’m all about having “desert” for breakfast. Plus, eating chocolate in the morning is the best.

- ½ cup frozen cherries
- ½ frozen banana
- 1½ cups unsweetened almond milk
- ¼ cup quick oats
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Place all ingredients in a blender.
- Blend until smooth and enjoy!
